The “Battle of Britain” is a very popular theme with model makers, which can also be seen in how many models and accessories are offered that go with it. Naturally, the Airfix company is represented with numerous kits on this topic. What I particularly like is that they also include vehicles and a tower besides ther plane kits.
Airfix is one of the leading model kit manufacturers, and they have produced many model kits related to the Battle of Britain. These kits include various aircraft, vehicles, and buildings that were used during the conflict. These kits are highly detailed and provide an excellent opportunity for model makers to recreate the events of the Battle of Britain.
In addition to Airfix, other model kit manufacturers have also produced kits related to the Battle of Britain. These include Tamiya, Revell, and Hasegawa, among others. Whether you are a model maker or a history buff, the Battle of Britain is a fascinating subject to explore, and the models and accessories available provide an excellent way to bring history to life.
The Hurricane MkI and Spitfire MkI are “newtool” kits that I really like. You have to admit, however, that the surface structures are a little too accentuated, as they still have to be visible when you paint the model with a thick layer of paint (brush). The plastic is typically very soft Airfix, which makes it easier to edit and sand the models.
Furthermore there accurate in outline and shape, have excellent decals and are reasonably priced.
As an experienced model maker, I can say that you can build a great model with these kits if you invest a little extra patience and attention
